COMPOSITE CLADDING

Hula-Bond aluminium composite panel consists of two sheets of aluminium bonded to a polyethylene core. The panel is available in a range of metallic and non-metallic PVDF paint finishes in both standard and custom sizes. Note: Standard stock holding is in silver.

Panel Gauge

The standard panel thicknesses are 4 and 6 mm. Other thickness can be manufactured on request to cater for specific applications.

Skin Gauge

The standard skin gauge is 0.50 mm.

Alloy

The standard alloy used is AA3003 H44.

Panel Size

With 3 200 mm x 1 250 mm being the standard, panels up to 3 600 x 1 500 mm can be supplied on request.

Hula-Bond is coated with the Color-Tech PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride) paint system.

Its carbon- fluorine bond is one of the strongest known, and accounts for the ability of these coatings to shrug off urban grime, acid rain, blistering sun, arctic gales and wind driven sand, and to maintain a superior finish for the life of the buildings they adorn.

The sound attenuation and the thermal and fire resistance properties of Hula-Bond make it easy to live with.

Hula-Bond’s composite structure makes it highly rigid, optically flat and enormously strong for its light weight. It is easy to curve or fold, giving the architect virtually unlimited opportunities to create interesting shapes and details.

A wide variety of compatible aluminium extrusions and fixings make Hula-Bond easy to design with, and simple to install.

Hula-Bond is in its element if an existing structure is to be recycled. The economics, even of a complete transformation, are dramatically improved when a building is re-clad with Hula-Bond. Firstly, the disruption to its occupants and rental income is minimal, and secondly, external cleaning and maintenance costs are no longer a major cost factor.

The aesthetic and economic results of cladding with aluminium composite panels are being seen worldwide. Hula-Bond today, is recognisable on many major projects in Southern Africa, and is gaining acceptance in other countries around the world.

Light Weight and Rigid

The composite structure of Hula-Bond panels, with thin outer skins of aluminium bonded to a polyethylene core, provides great rigidity at a fraction of the weight compared with panels of solid, single sheet construction.

Flatness

The process used in manufacturing Hula-Bond ensures superior surface smoothness and sheet flatness.
Formability

Hula-Bond can be easily formed. It can be curved to a tight radius using pyramid rollers or brake press. Hula-Bond aluminium composite panel consists of two sheets of aluminium bonded to a polyethylene core. The panel is available in a range of metallic and non-metallic PVDF paint finishes, in both standard and custom sizes. and can also be routed and folded to create sharp, well defined corners and edges.

Machinability

Hula-Bond composite panel can be easily cut, punched, drilled and routed using standard wood working equipment.

Vibration Damping

Hula-Bond, with its polyethylene core, exhibits excellent sound attenuation properties. The vibration loss factor for Hula-Bond is approximately six times better than an equivalent solid aluminium sheet.

Weather Resistant

The natural corrosion resistance of the aluminium outer sheets, coupled with the Color-Tech PVDF paint coating applied to Hula-Bond panels, provides long term low maintenance durability.
